Who do I want to be in a crisis and how do we want to meet our fellow human beings when it comes to this?
Gatans Förband
is a non-profit organization that has been organizing free courses in
stopping life-threatening bleeding, for example caused by gunshot
wounds, since 2023. We who give the courses are trained instructors in
the Stop the Bleed concept.
Gatans Förband
was born out of the gang violence of recent years. We experience that
many of our neighbors feel anxious and powerless after a shooting has
occurred. And when we organize a workshop in Stop the Bleed, together
we can transform that anxiety into action and community. Our training
is a place for the local community to meet and be there for each other.
Our
goal is to reach out to both young people and adults in our local areas
and around the country. The more people who can stop a catastrophic
bleeding, the more people have a chance of surviving until the
ambulance arrives.
